Around the world, celebrating life.
Sail toward what matters.
IKIGAI is a catamaran travelling around the world and the home we live in. Along the way, we welcome just a few people at a time to share the sailing, the encounters and everyday life on board.
Sailing, yoga, freediving, meditation and movement are part of life on board. Each day brings something new to discover, together with the time to get to know a place and the people you are experiencing it with.
You can join us along the journey and become part of it, even if only for a few days.
Behind the journey...
For years, I built my life around work and security. A profound loss led me to look differently at what I was building and ask myself whether it was truly the life I wanted to live.
Those questions set me on a path that eventually brought me to live at sea, aboard IKIGAI. A catamaran that, even before carrying me towards new destinations, accompanies me towards what truly matters.
Today, I try to give health, relationships and personal growth a tangible place in my days. Sailing, practising, meeting people and discovering places: this is how the search continues.
IKIGAI was also born from the desire to share this way of living with those who join us.

Discover moreRemembering what matters.
In the rush of everyday life, it is easy to lose sight of what matters to us, almost to the point of forgetting it.
IKIGAI aims to be a space where we can remember: in the time devoted to the body, in contact with the sea and in the relationships that grow on board.
IKIGAI SAILING is a non-profit association. Contributions from participants support the boat, the activities and the continuity of the project.
Our home, built for the ocean.
Having set sail from Italy in 2022, IKIGAI crossed the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and sailed through the Caribbean: from the British Virgin Islands to Grenada, via Los Roques, and on to Panama. More than ten thousand miles and over twenty countries.
The boat that has brought us this far is a Catana 47, an ocean-going catamaran: fast under sail, able to keep moving even in light winds and steady at anchor. Twelve solar panels, a hydrogenerator, lithium batteries and two watermakers make us self-sufficient even far from everything.
Three guest cabins, a bright saloon and a real galley. Today we are in San Blas, the last stop before reaching the Pacific Ocean.
Many paths, one direction.
Roll out the mat and devote a moment to the body. Discover the silence and intensity of freediving. Feel how the boat changes when you trim a sail.
Sailing, yoga, freediving, meditation and other movement practices are part of life aboard IKIGAI. They are different ways of exploring our relationship with the body, the breath and the environment around us. Wellbeing takes shape through experience, not only through ideas.
You can try something for the first time, deepen what you already know or simply enjoy the sea. Participation grows out of interest, not an obligation to do everything.
Now, in San Blas.
At this stage of our journey around the world, we are sailing among the islands of Guna Yala, Panama. We are staying here to get to know the archipelago, meet the people who live here and share this part of the journey with those who join us.
Join us in San BlasNew horizons, a home to return to.
Year after year, IKIGAI reaches new places while preserving what makes life on board recognisable. Those who return find the same home, the same philosophy and the freedom to take part, in a different setting each time.
You can return to a practice left unfinished, deepen a discipline or discover a new one, continuing your own path with us.
Words from those who have been on board.
Thank you for your professionalism, but above all for the empathy you managed to create from the very first moment. Your ability to listen and share your stories on board, even over a good glass of wine.
